SFS Public School and Junior College, Ettumanoor, is one among the chain of prestigious educational institutions dedicated to St Francis de Sales, the Gentleman Saint. The ideals of this Doctor of Universal Love have inspired the establishment of over a hundred schools and technical institutions scattered through metropolitan cities as well as smaller towns and villages all over the Indian sub-continent Africa and Europe.

The plan for a school of this genre had been taking shape in the minds of the Fathers at SFS Seminary, Ettumanoor, for some years. Although the Seminary had shifted to Ettumanoor nearly four decades ago, the school complex began to materialize only in June 2003 when 468 students came to study here from LKG to Class VI. As its founder -principal, Fr. Josey Ponnambel laid a strong academic foundation. In June 2004 Fr. Josey was replaced by Fr. Binoy as Principal. The vision envisaged by the management has been constantly and consistently strenghthened with the active cooperation of a highly motivated teaching staff.

The kindergarten is part and parcel of the school, and is housed in a compact building which is practically independent of the rest of the school complex. The grand plan of the school building is an imposing structure which is nearing completion.

The school has been affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi (No 930529).

The current enrolment during 2011-12 stands at 1730 students and 108 staff members.
