When the school started functioning in June 2003, Fr Josey Ponnambel was the Principal and School Manager. He had an uncanny knack for school administration and management. Initially he went round the neighbourhood drumming up support and goodwill for the school, and roping in pupils for the initial enrolment.
At the end of that academic year, however, Fr Josey had to leave the school to pursue his Master degree programme in neighbouring Tamil Nadu. Incidentally, Fr Josey won the first rank in MSW in June 2007 from Bharathiar University.
In June 2004, Fr Binoy Kurakalayil came to replace Fr Josey as the new Principal. Prior to his appointment here, Fr Binoy had spent a year gaining valuable experience in school management from St Francis de Sales Higher Secondary School, Janakpuri, New Delhi.
Fr Binoy has now been at the helm of affairs at SFS Public School, Ettumanoor, for the last four years, and established his stature as a strict disciplinarian with a soft heart for students.
Fr Joe Cherolickal, in his capacity as the Vice Principal, has been assisting Fr Binoy in running the school. Both Fathers engage some classes and spend the rest of their time at the school overseeing its smooth operation. |
