SFS Public School has no long history to speak of. In the annals of an institution, nine years is too short a period to highlight. However, with the passing of years, the school stands ready to cross aeons and to make a name for itself as the number one educational institution in Ettumanoor.
The school started functioning in June 2003. The last nine years have witnessed amazing growth both in student strength and academic performance of the school besides a remarkable diversification of activities in all directions. While extracurricular activities have assumed a greater role in the year plan, academics have not lost their prime importance. The three R's are still important but additionally more activities aimed at developing the all-round personalities of students have been finding their place in the curriculum.
The rush for admissions has become an unprecedented feature at this institution. Admissions to LKG start in January while seats in higher classes are hard to secure as all classes are usually full to capacity. The initial strength in 2003 was 634 students in June 2003 but the numbers have nearly tripled to 1,730 during the current academic year (2011-12).
The academic year 2008-09 witnessed the commencement of the higher secondary section at SFS. The school inspection prior to this project was held in December 2007. The three higher secondary batches that passed out until March 2011 have more than justified the authorities' expectations with cent per cent results. Many from these batches had their names among the first hundred ranks of medical entrance examination.
